Description
The El Vergel Estate Gesha is one of the most exclusive coffees from Colombia. Planted in 2016, more than 12,000 Gesha plants grow in the rich volcanic soil near the snowy mountain “El Ruiz.” This coffee is known for its elegant profile and complex flavor.
The Bayter Family started El Vergel Estate in 1995. At first, they focused on avocados. However, in 2006, they shifted their work to coffee production. By 2016, with the support of coffee expert Miguel Jimenez, they planted specialty varieties like Gesha and Java.
Two years later, the farm embraced new processing methods. For example, Koji fermentation and carbonic maceration (CM fermentation) became part of their work, unlocking unique and layered flavors.
Today, the estate is led by Martha Montenegro together with Elias and Shady Bayter. They combine technology and passion to produce outstanding coffees while supporting the local community through jobs and education.
Every bag of El Vergel Gesha tells a story of dedication, innovation, and respect for the land. This micro‑lot delivers a vibrant cup with floral aromas, sweet notes, and remarkable clarity.
