Description
Located in northwest Honduras, Copán’s coffee farms, at 1000–1500 meters, benefit from 1300-2300mm of annual rain and temperatures of 11.5–22.3°C. Farms are shaded by Inga trees and hardwoods, supporting sustainable practices. Starting with just 1.7 hectares, Rosy and Roy balanced full-time jobs with coffee work. Joining CAFESMO in 2016, they transitioned from washed to natural and anaerobic coffees. Rosy now manages micro-lot preparation full-time, and they expanded with 0.35 hectares of Catucaí Amarelo 2L, aiming to plant 2 more hectares. They use organic fertilizers, support local projects, and advocate for Honduran women in coffee.
